Amanda Koontz is timeless. A Texan-Mexican techno producer, DJ, and event curator, she emerged from Austin’s post-pandemic underground electronic renaissance, shaping a ritualistic, crafted sound.
Known for her surgical mixing style, Koontz blends live sampling with heavy, percussive grooves to create immersive, hypnotic sets. She describes DJing as painting with sound, tapping into frequencies that move bodies, heal the self, and bind dancers together in the dark.
Her witchy productions and commanding performances have echoed through Austin institutions and underground spaces, including Club Eternal, Cheer Up Charlies, Coconut Club, Dadalab, Art Island, and various DIY events across Texas.
Beyond the dancefloor, Koontz curates Obscuridad, a hard dance radio concept exploring shadow, rhythm, and transformation. The show has aired internationally on platforms such as Mutant Radio, Hong Kong Radio, and Texas staple Shared Frequencies. Obscuridad now lives on as a live residency with Houston’s Ice House Radio, broadcasting from a reimagined carwash space.
A self-taught audio engineer and producer, Amanda Koontz is currently finalizing upcoming releases slated for 2026. Her creative practice extends into visual art, working across acrylic painting, digital graphics, motion design, and occasional multimedia installations within nightlife environments.
Amanda Koontz is a nocturnal force grounded in long-term sobriety and devotion to the divine feminine. She draws inspiration from Mother Nature and the unseen worlds in the shadows.
